Support the Supporters - Iranian Community
Our 2010 follow-up project is currently in design. It will focus on mental health and addictions and their role in abuse, neglect and self-neglect. We will also be doing workshops in either the Tri-Cities or Burnaby/New Westminster for Farsi-speakers living in other parts of the Lower Mainland. These workshops will link into the Fraser Health Authority and the Community Living Offices in Port Moody and Burnaby and will involve RCMP and/or municipal police.
The Community Role in Safe & Supportive Care Homes (Started Feb. 2008)

Conversation on Home Support, Respite and Residential Care
The Ombudsman has called for the creation of a single provincial website for public reporting of information about residential care facilities by September 30, 2010. The Network will use this website as the basis for a web-based decision support tool to assist North Shore residents in selecting home care, residential care and respite resources. The tool will include information about how to select and how to get the most from a residential care facility for your loved one.

Vanguard Implementation Project
We are being funded by the BC Association of Community Response Networks to implement a pilot project to develop a specialised, cross-disciplinary team of volunteer mentors to walk alongside at-risk adults with complex issues. This project is in the early design stages. The concept is to put personal support networks consisting of 3 or 4 volunteers around an at risk adult. The pilot project will begin in April and will target 6 clients and train 18 to 20 volunteers.
Inventory of Informal Supports in North Shore Housing/Community Settings
The Network will be taking the lead on a project to inventory informal (community-based) programs that support adults in congregate forms of North Shore housing or other community settings. This project is a part of the Seniors Planning Table (Seniors Coalition) initiative for 2009-10. The inventory will cover Seymour, Lynn Valley and Horseshoe Bay. It will be posted here when it is completed.
Tsleil-Waututh Nation Mapping Project
This is a new project that will run in spring 2010. It will result in a mapping of the Federal, Provincial, Community and Band resources/services that support responses to abuse, neglect and self-neglect on Reserve. For
